Ms. Yasotha Mithiradaas completed her diploma studies at Ramanathan Academy affiliated to the University of Jaffna. Ms Yasotha is a distinguished singer in Sri Lanka receiving many Gold medals for Carnatic Music Competition. She undertook further training in Kacheri style renditions under Smt. Praneswary Nadarajah, which further established her knowledge in Carnatic music and equipped her with the talent to sing for many concerts and Arangetrams; both instrumental and Bharatha Natyam.
Yasotha Mithiradas had advanced training under Smt. Mangalam Shankar and the Carnatica brothers. She has been successfully conducting workshops in liaison with Carnatica Brothers for the past 9 years to help develop this fine art in the UK.
Ms Yasotha Mithiradas is a well renowned Carnatic musician and teacher in the UK. She is the founder of The Academy of Musical Excellence which has been running successfully for the past 10 years. Her students are frequent winners at local music competitions such as the Croydon Music Festival. She has been the resident Carnatic Vocal Teacher at the Kingston Institute of Tamil Culture for the past 28 years. At present, she is also teaching at the newly founded Croydon Shankara Vidhya Bhavan.
Ms Yasotha Mithradas is a gifted musician and composer. She has created many dance dramas for well distinguished teachers such as Smt Subathra Sivathasan and Smt Malathy Jeyanayagam. At present she is working with Smt Menaka Raviraj on upcoming events.
